I've just started going to a coworking space in Brooklyn. I can get work done there for a very affordable price, without having to be based out of a central office (as most of us freelancers know these days). Not to mention the coffee and wifi, they have A.C. and temperatures are expected to rise to 98 or more - feeling like 110 - today and tomorrow.
On my way up the elevator this morning, I had an interesting and entertaining interaction with a man who worked on the first floor, which in this building strangely isn't the ground floor.
He lets me into the front door, since the receptionist isn't in yet upstairs.
On our way into the elevator:
Man: "Do you work at the Dance Studio Upstairs?"
Me: "No, at the coworking space, second floor."
Man: "Oh, I thought it was the dance studio 'cuz you look like a dancer. Except dancers usually have really messed up feet, and you don't have messed up feet. You have nice feet."
Me: "...Thanks?"
Good morning, New York.
