Sorry for the delay.
I've been MIA. It's cold recently, and due to the holiday season and the upcoming break, things have been busy at school.
Just so that you know I'm still alive, I'm posting now... and I'll do my best to post something more significant later.
On my way to work this morning, I had an idea of what it would feel like to experience snow in Japan. Despite living in Tokyo/Saitama for 10 months, I didn't once experience a really big snowfall. On my way to work however, I looked up at the horizon, and the mountains off in the distance were covered in snow. The roads were wet, almost slushy, and I could see my breath as I rode my bike towards the mountains. The cold nights and inconvenience of not having a car is going to be a pain for sure, but seeing the beauty of the mountains makes it all all right for those few moments.
About school: the students have completely stopped writing letters to me, but I'm getting closer to the few students that go to English club on a regular basis.
Also, I got a call from a computer company while I was at school. Apparently while I was searching the internet for a Christmas game for the kids, a virus snuck in. The company that supports the school's system found it right away, and called to tell me not to use the computer until it was fixed. Then some of the teachers were curious as to what I had been looking up. Awkward moment of the week.
Finally, I made a very ghetto guitar shoulder strap to be able to take the guitar (that I received for free) to and from school by bike, since walking was just more time consuming. I'll show you pictures when I get around to taking them. ^_^
Much love from Japan, please stay warm and know that my heart is with you this holiday season!
Hello, Where are you? Is everything OK?
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas.
