Come the end of next week, I'll probably have more consistent internet connection/ communication, so please hold out until then for when I'll start writing regularly again.
Tonight is the second show for "Blast From the Past," which is the band I've joined. Tonight I won't be singing any leads or playing any saxophone, but I will at some point! I'm a little nervous for it, but it'll be fun if nothing else. Once I get my sax and fixed from the US, I'll be able to play sax for them for some songs.
I've gotten a lot more comfortable at my school, and the most difficult classes have even gotten easier to handle. I think not taking the kids too seriously, or not taking it so personally is one way to get through it. I do think I'm going to ask to re-contract again for next year, although what I'd really like to do is be promoted to CIR. I have been told that in Yamanashi it is very rare that ALTs become CIRs, so I may have to put that one on hold. I am actually speaking a lot more Japanese at the school than I thought I would be, because I'm trying to get involved in after school activities as well. I'll talk a little more about the English Club and Kyudo (Japanese Archery) when I have some more time to write a longer entry. I've also been writing some letters to students and I get some Japanese practice that way. I'm also going to try to take my Japanese Study more seriously this year, in hopes to get better faster. I've been reading a book very slowly and meeting with a tutor from time to time. Hopefully I'll start meeting her more often starting next week.
That's all for now. Talk to you later!
BACK TO THE PAST SHOW I - It was a very small venue, and we didn't sell many tickets so basically it was empty. It was at least fun though!
