Summer 2010

I am really excited about this coming summer! I'll start by going to West Virginia for a few days, and then when I go home some students from Denison will be in the NY area and spend some time in the city and at our house. Some of my plans for the summer include doing research about consulting, having a few meetings with consultants in the area for informational interviews, free (fun) reading/research, recording songs with a friend, and working for Trudy. I am really happy that I'll be able to continue working for her while I am at home and even abroad. I have really learned so much by working there! I will probably spend a good amount of time outside, in the library, and at the black cow while I'm at home for the two months. I will also hopefully get a chance to go through things to give away, and organize the attic a little bit so I can store things up there while I am away. I'll keep you updated with my projects!

Current projects:

Reading The Accidental Office Lady by Laura Kriska.
She is a Denison Alumni
(class of '87), and she worked for Honda in Tokyo right after graduation. I am in the early stages of reading the book now, but when I am done I will give you a mini synopsis. If an
yone is interested in reading about a foreigner working in Japan in the auto/business industry, you should take a look. So far, I am a little surprised about her rigidness and unwillingness to really adapt to Japanese society, but as I said, I will let you know more about it when I get further into the book. I am going to meet up with her in NY this summer to talk about
her experience and her job after returning to America after Japan. I'll let you know how that goes as well once we meet.

Writing my Arabic final. It is going to take me a while...

Writing thank you cards for teachers and family.

Going through my filing drawer of old records before I lug all of that home.
